Goal Setting for An Amazing 2015!

I love setting goals for the new year! Even if I don’t accomplish them all, its great to look back and see how far I’ve come at the end of the year. This year I want to set goals the right way and I want to start early enough so I have time to write them down and refine them. This year I want to see great changes in both my personal and professional life. What are you inspired to do, change, and be in 2015?

As we get closer to 2015 I want to encourage you to start setting your own goals for the year ahead. Below are some great tips to help you. A few tips are followed by a powerful quote to help you commit it to memory.

1. Create a theme! I love themes. They give you a starting point during your decision making process and hep you focus on your goals throughout the year. My theme for 2015 is “Actualizing for Whole Life Transformation!”! What will your theme be?

2. Make it visual. This could mean writing it down in a journal, making a vision board, or planning it all out on a calendar. I do all three! Doesn’t hurt to have it everywhere and I need constant reminders visually so I don’t get off course. Do one or all three like me but absolutely make it visual! By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be. Put your future in good hands — your own. – Mark Victor Hansen

3. Align your goals with your hopes and dreams. I know you have dreams, everyone does. I have big dreams! Nothing is too crazy or out of scope. A great exercise is to think of your goals as if money and time were not a barrier. Start with this one simple statement.

“I can see myself______________.”  Fill in the blank. Married to a wonderful man with a big heart. Traveling to Italy with my best friend, etc. You get the picture?

If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes. – Andrew Carnegie

4. Set goals that will stretch you and take you out of your comfort zone. This one needs no explanation.

It can be something you have never done before. I’m a big believer in growth. Life is not about achievement, it’s about learning and growth, and developing qualities like compassion, patience, perseverance, love, and joy, and so forth. And so if that is the case, then I think our goals should include something which stretches us. – Jack Canfield

5. Stay consistent as you pursue your goals. We all fall off track, life happens. But when you get thrown a curve, get back on track and keep on going.

To make the future demands courage. It demands work. But it also demands faith. Peter Drucker

6. Measure your progress. Keeping track of how well you are doing will really help you stay focused and refocus. Monthly or quarterly check-ins like companies do is a great way to see how you are progressing. Don’t forget to give yourself permission to celebrate your progress and successes!

Here’s a toast to you and all of your dreams! I am praying for a wonderful and successful 2015 for you!
